12 and 17 is a really big maturity difference. But if you have to confidence, just know that most teenage girls are shallow and prefer older guys. Just go start a casual converstaion with her for the first few weeks then if you guys click and become friends, ask her if she'd like to hang out outside of church sometime. Just be yourself.

Rachel- Well, my opinion is that she is 16 and your only 12. If you lie to her and say that your 15, and then she finds out that your only 12. Then your ruined. She would probably like someone her own age. You should go for someone your age, and thats as hott as her.

being 17 myself ill admitt its flattering when younger boys think that you're attractive, however, i dont think she'd take you seriously. theres no problem telling someone how you feel if its truely how you feel, but dont expect much out of her. it might not seem like a huge difference to you but 5 years is a HUGE difference to a 17 year old girl.

Because LOTS of the people said they would date up to five years older or younger than them. So you might have a chance, try asking when she's not around.
